HENRICO, VA – Today, Shannon Taylor, Democratic candidate for Attorney General, announced her endorsement from former Virginia House of Delegates Speaker, Eileen Filler-Corn.
“As Virginia’s first woman Speaker of the House, I know what it takes to lead with strength, vision, and integrity – and Shannon Taylor has all of that and more,” said former Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn. “For nearly 30 years, she has shown an unwavering commitment to justice, public safety, and the people of Virginia. Shannon has the experience, grit, and compassion we need in our next Attorney General. Whether it’s defending reproductive freedom, keeping our communities safe from gun violence, or standing up to political extremism, Shannon will always put Virginians first. I am proud to endorse her and look forward to working to elect her.”
“I am honored to have the support of former Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn in my campaign for Attorney General,” said Shannon Taylor. “We’re building a strong campaign to push back against the chaos of the Trump administration. Virginia deserves an Attorney General who has taken on the tough fights to keep our families safe and protect our fundamental freedoms.”
Shannon Taylor is a lifelong Virginian who has always taken on tough fights to help the people of Virginia. Shannon became the only Democrat elected county wide in 2011 when she was elected Commonwealth’s Attorney for Henrico County, and took on the powerful interests that got in the way of progress. Shannon has taken on the gun lobby to reduce illegal guns on our streets, held fraudsters accountable for exploiting seniors and driving up costs, and was one of the first prosecutors in the nation to push back against criminalizing women and doctors for accessing abortions after Roe v. Wade was overturned, sparking a national movement for other prosecutors to do the same.
