Virginia Leaders Endorse Shannon Taylor for Attorney General In Competitive Democratic Primary

Dozens of Virginia Leaders join a growing coalition of supporters for Shannon Taylor’s Campaign for Attorney General.

HENRICO  – Today, dozens of state and local leaders across Virginia, including former Virginia Attorney General Mary Sue Terry, Delegate Rodney Willett, and former State Senator Dick Saslaw endorsed Shannon Taylor in her race for Attorney General of Virginia.

“I am proud to build a strong coalition of leaders across the Commonwealth in my race for Attorney General,” said Shannon Taylor. “Virginia needs an Attorney General with a proven record defending reproductive freedom, fighting against gun violence, and protecting our most vulnerable. That’s why this November we will flip Virginia’s Office of Attorney General from red to blue.”

“As the first woman elected statewide in Virginia, and the only woman to serve as Attorney General in the Commonwealth, I am proud to endorse Shannon Taylor for Attorney General. Shannon has dedicated her life to public service with nearly 30 years of experience as a prosecutor keeping our families safe. Shannon’s record is unmatched in this race and I know she is the strongest candidate to keep our communities and families safe from crime, protect our reproductive freedoms and stand up to political extremists. She will be an invaluable voice for all Virginians as our next Attorney General.” – Mary Sue Terry, former VA Attorney General.

“As a former Norfolk City Councilmember, I know firsthand how important it is to have an Attorney General who understands the needs of our citizens and the challenges faced by local governments. Shannon Taylor is the only candidate with more than a decade of experience prosecuting cases at the local level. Her proven track record of managing staff and applying the law with fairness and integrity makes her uniquely qualified to protect our communities and uphold justice for all Virginians.” – Andria McClellan, Fmr City Council member — Norfolk

“We need Shannon Taylor for Attorney General. She will stand up for Virginia values and keep our families safe. I know we can trust Shannon to protect our access to reproductive freedom. She has the experience, and track record essential to being an outstanding Attorney General. I am excited to support her and help her win!” — Alyia Gaskins, Mayor — Alexandria.

“As a gun safety activist, I have fought for gun safety reform at the General Assembly and in our communities in the Commonwealth. Shannon has stood side by side with me and been a most valuable partner. Her knowledge of the law, her commitment to the cause makes me excited and hopeful and I’m proud to endorse her in her race for our next Attorney General.” – Lori Haas, Community Leader
